Hansa – Hertha betting review
Hansa Rostock hosts Hertha Berlin in a match from the first round of the German Cup tournament. The duel is tonight at 19:45 at DKB Arena.
Hansa was a traditional player in the First Bundesliga between 1995-2005. After that, however, the club had serious financial difficulties and even reached the Third Bundesliga, after the 2010 team fell to second level of German football. A year later, they returned to the Second Bundesliga, but in 2012 they fell again and since then they have been constantly playing in the Third Bundesliga. Currently, the team is in eighth place in the standings with a seven-point asset. In the last round, Hansa lost 1: 2 home from Meppen to suffer a first defeat in the season. In the last game with Hertha in 2008, Hansa made 0: 0 home against this opponent. They have won three of their last 11 games against Hertha at home. Now, however, things are quite different and Hansa does not even have a win in his last five games on his own terrain in the Third Bundesliga, so it’s very difficult to surprise the Berliners.
Herta made a very strong season and for the second consecutive year they finished in the Top 6, although in their last 12 games they only scored four wins. During the summer training, “The Old Lady” won seven of her eight friendly matches after losing only Liverpool. They scored an average of 3 goals per game and showed a strong attack game. Hertha made a very strong transfer after attracting Leipzig’s young star Davy Selke. However, the team split with their best defender – John Anthony Brooks, who went to Wolfsburg for 17m euros.
If Cup matches often have surprise, we do not expect Hertha to make a mistake in this match. Hansa Rostock are not in their best form at home, winning only one of their last nine league games. The new Bundesliga season knocks on the door and Herta looks good, so they should win this game easily.
Prediction: Hertha -1.5 Asian Handicap
